HER STORY
Self Described as a thorough Brooklyn Baddie with a splash of Southern Grace. With Fourth Generation Brooklyn Roots, Kiará is known to EXUDE an UNPARALLELED Raw STRENGTH With a polished Sense of care.
Kiará’s artistic practice centers empathic driven storytelling as a Means to curating radical VULNERABILITY, humanity, And Truth For black & Brown Femmes. She feels HISTORICALLY, in the world and in Stories, Black & Brown women’s humanity is replaced with being SuperHuman often repressing their own experiences and emotions to serve others. Kiará aims to challenge this Cultural Norm by Expressing the fullness of her INDIVIDUAL experience and creating space for other Black & Brown Femmes to Do the Same.
She has originated several roles in new plays, New Media, and films throughout the country. Select acting credits include: Vámonos (Intar Theatre), bb brecht (The Public Theater), Cadillac Crew (WAM), Black Mexican (Wayward Voices), Every 28 Hours Plays (Long Wharf Theatre) and In My Garden (NYU Thesis Film).
Outside of being an Actor, she is the Co-Artistic Director of cinnamon Sage and is the Programming & Communications Associate at JACK in Brooklyn. Additionally, Kiará also works as a theatrical Associate/Assistant Director Off-Broadway. Select credits include: O.K.! (WP Theater), Salt City (Apollo Theatre), and Cadillac Crew (WAM Theater).
She is a proud graduate of Spelman College where she obtained a B.A in Theatre and Performance with a concentration in directing. When Kiara is not on a Stage or a set (In some capacity) you will find her Reading the Latest Yaa Gasysi Book, creating a flower arrangement, or taking a pilates class.
